米国リッチモンド連邦準備銀行総裁バーキン（Thomas Barkin）は火曜日の講演で、経済の不確実性が高まる中、Fedは通貨政策を「適度に制限」するべきであり、将来的にインフレ抑制の取り組みが逆風に転じる場合、連邦準備制度は利上げを行う可能性があると警告しました。
