Trump plans to issue an executive order to promote the development of artificial intelligence.
According to Gate News bot, four insiders revealed that the Trump administration is preparing a series of executive measures aimed at driving the expansion of artificial intelligence in the United States.
Sources say that the measures under consideration include making it easier for generation projects to connect to the power grid and providing federal land for building data centers needed to expand artificial intelligence technology. According to data from the energy consulting firm Grid Strategies, U.S. electricity demand is expected to grow at five times the rate predicted in 2022 between 2024 and 2029. A report from consulting firm Deloitte indicates that by 2035, the electricity demand for AI data centers could increase by more than 30 times.
Informed sources reveal that the government is considering prioritizing mature power generation projects in the interconnection queue. An executive order will also authorize the Department of Defense and the Department of the Interior to manage land for project construction. The government is also considering simplifying the permitting process for data centers by establishing a national "Clean Water Act" permit instead of requiring businesses to apply for permits state by state. Additionally, the White House is considering designating July 23 as "Artificial Intelligence Action Day."
