"Exclusive Interview: World Product Head Tiago Sada Talks About Identification Verification in the AI Era: Partnering with Tinder and Visa to Create a 'Real Person Internet' for Billions of Users"
In an interview with Tiago Sada, Chief Product Officer of Tools for Humanity (TFH), a World Network development company, we provide an in-depth look at how World has gone hand in hand, forming alliances with industry giants such as Razer, Tinder, and Visa, and rapidly building a growing Mini App empire driven by the development community. (Synopsis: World Network (World Network) Arrives in Taiwan! Scan the iris "real person verification" to register the World ID to receive world coins) (Background added: Pantera Capital: Why do we invest in World Network? In today's AI wave sweeping the world, a fundamental question comes to the surface, how do we prove "I am a real human being?" in the digital world? When AI-generated fake identities and interactions can't identify real from fake, the question is not philosophical speculation in college classrooms, but about online trust, financial security, and even the bottom of the social structure: Can we trust people online? In this context, the World Network (formerly known as World Network), co-founded by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, quickly captured the world's attention with its futuristic iris scanning device Orb and the concept of "Proof of Personhood". So far, this "live network" has attracted more than 30 million users worldwide. But apart from scanning iris and picking up airdrops, what exactly is World Network's ambition? How does it build a digital identity ecosystem that includes billions of users amid controversy and anticipation? BlockTempo spoke exclusively with Tiago Sada, product director of Tools for Humanity (TFH), a World Network development company, to provide an in-depth look at how the World Network has gone hand in hand, forming alliances with industry giants such as Razer, Tinder, and Visa, and rapidly building a growing Mini App empire driven by the development community. Tiago Sada Goes to Taipei TempoX Accelerator Space Explained Tools For Humanity's Roadmap Core positioning: "real network" infrastructure in the AI era The core of the World Network is a network of real humans. Tiago Sada said straight to the point. He compares the World Network to Facebook or X (formerly Twitter), but the fundamental difference is that each node in the network is a biometrically verified, unique human individual. "We believe that in the age of AI, this network-provided authentication tool is necessary for humans to take full advantage of the benefits of AI." Sada emphasizes. This digital passport, called World ID, is not just a login credential, it is more like a key, adding a trusted real person token to online interactions, thus solving the problems that have plagued the online world for years, such as robot accounts, fake news, and sybil attacks. Sada's vision is ambitious: "I think in 10 or 15 years, everything we do on the web, whether it's in the front or back, will use World ID. Every website and every app people use is used to ensure the credibility of interactions." Ecosystem Expansion: Alliances with Giants To turn this vision into reality, World App alone is not enough. Sada revealed that World Network's ecological expansion strategy mainly follows two paths. The first path is to work with the world's top brands to embed World ID into existing mainstream use cases. The recently announced cooperation is very impressive. Gaming: Partnering with esports giant Razer to bring World ID to online games can completely eliminate plugins and cheating players. Social domain: Partnered with Tinder's parent company, Match Group, to take the lead in a trial on Tinder to verify user authenticity and improve dating safety. Finance: Partnered with payment leader Visa to explore new financial services based on "real person proof", the first product will be a new card called World Card. "We're working with some established companies to integrate World ID into their existing applications." Sada explained that the move is designed to allow hundreds of millions of users to seamlessly experience the value of World ID in familiar scenarios. However, the other half of the blueprint may be more disruptive - empowering global developers to build a new ecosystem of mini programs within the World App. "You know, I saw a statistic the other day and it was an eye-opener." Sada's tone revealed excitement, "More than 70% of the activity on the World App now happens on Mini Programs." This means that World Network users are not only using WLD tokens, they are more active in using games, social, voting, and payment tools created by third-party developers. Sada believes that this is the real engine for the explosion of World ID's value. "It's very clear to us that most of the value and utility of World ID and wallets will come from third-party developers." Developers are the treasure "It's hard to get 1,000 users alone, and it's an impossible task to get 1 million users." A former developer, Sada knows the difficulty of starting a business. The World Network sees today's 30 million real users as the biggest lever to empower developers. When developers launch Mini Programs within the World App, they not only get new technical tools (such as real-life proofs), but also direct fast access to a large user base. "Seeing that there are Mini Programs with 100,000, 200,000 users, and even a few with more than 1 million users, nothing makes us happier." To ignite the creativity of developers, the World Network offers a series of heavy supports: Funding: The World Network Foundation has set up a grant program of up to 50 million WLDs (worth about $150 million). Entrepreneurship: Launch of the World Build accelerator to provide intensive mentorship to potential teams. Global presence: Establish local teams in each region to provide first-line support. What's even more compelling is that Sada exclusively revealed to BlockTempo a blockbuster plan to return: "We previously did a three-month pilot to give out rewards based on how many 'real humans' use your applet each week. We will relaunch this project and make it a regular project." This means that developers no longer need lengthy grant applications.
