Dead people receiving benefits, infants can take loans! Musk DOGE: Completely reform the Biden administration's flaws, thank you President Trump.
Elon Musk ( was interviewed on 3/28 along with members of the Government Efficiency Department ) DOGE ( to share the current progress on fiscal expenditure cuts and how to improve the outdated IT systems, contracting mechanisms, and retirement systems of the federal government. Musk pointed out that the budget cut targets are now very clear, with the goal of eliminating 4 billion dollars of meaningless budget per day.
The budget reduction goal is clear, cutting $4 billion in waste every day.
Musk pointed out that the goal of entering the government this time is simply to cut the annual fiscal deficit in half from 2 trillion dollars and reduce spending from 7 trillion to 6 trillion.
"A simple online survey with only 10 questions originally cost $10,000, but the government spent nearly $1 billion." Musk stated that the goal of DOGE is to reduce $4 billion in waste daily, continuing seven days a week.
External critics say this is a scattershot approach, but Musk explained: "We took action after careful consideration, not haphazardly."
Renovating the physical hell, the retirement system is stuck in the mine.
Currently, the reform of the federal retirement system is being handled by Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia, who has found that the government's retirement system is still relying on paper-based operations.
Gebbia stated that there is an abandoned mine in Pennsylvania, USA, used by the government to store and process documents, which is filled with nearly 20,000 filing cabinets and a total of 400 million documents. He further pointed out that the current retirement process takes 6 to 9 months and is often miscalculated.
He stated that the current reform goal is to fully digitize all operational processes.
The system is old and inefficient, and fraud is like opening a door to do business.
DOGE engineer Arum Mandasi pointed out that systems like the Social Security ) and the IRS ( have been in place for over 50 years, with high maintenance costs and low efficiency.
He cited that the Social Security Administration receives a large number of calls every day requesting changes to bank account information, among which:
Up to 40% are scam calls.
Data between systems do not interoperate, allowing fraudsters to impersonate deceased individuals to claim unemployment benefits and disability welfare.
It is controlled by a single account that manages national expenditures, making it impossible for the US Treasury to audit.
Tom CR, the head of the reform at the Ministry of Finance, stated that the US government currently only has one main payment account, which once had funds as high as 800 billion USD, but it is unable to track where the money is spent.
Currently, the government loses up to $500 billion each year due to fraud and improper payments, and the federal government is even unable to pass audits, with serious deficiencies in accounting data. Tom described: "If this were a company, it would be delisted, and executives would be arrested."
The baby loan case and living to 120 years old, with so many loopholes it feels like a joke.
DOGE also discovered that the small business loan system had issued 300 million dollars to individuals over 120 years old, and another 300 million dollars was surprisingly issued to "bosses" under the age of 11. Even more outrageous is that a 9-month-old baby actually "successfully secured a loan" because a fraud group stole the baby's social security number.
The above situation reflects that the various government systems are not interconnected, allowing fraudsters to take advantage.
No layoffs, just streamlining; a public reveal of manpower adjustment methods.
Anthony Armstrong, who is responsible for personnel reform, stated that the IRS has 1,400 people specifically assigned to distribute laptops and mobile phones. Assuming each person serves 2 employees a day, they can serve 14 times the total number of IRS employees in a year.
To reduce excessive manpower, the reform adopts a moderate approach, including voluntary retirement and early withdrawal of severance bonuses. Currently, the number of people being forcibly dismissed is less than 0.15%.
A contract worth 1 billion, contract review exposes the dark secrets.
Former oil company CEO Tyler Hasson took over the review of all Department of Interior contracts and found that the Biden )Joe Biden( administration had almost no review process.
He pointed out that the $1 billion online investigation he found was found casually during the holidays. Doge is currently reviewing each expenditure and grant, and uploading abnormal information to Doge's official website for real-time query.
System summary, 700 NIH systems unable to communicate.
At the Department of Health and Human Services, the team discovered that the National Institutes of Health )NIH( alone has 700 IT systems that cannot communicate with each other, along with 27 Chief Information Officers )CIO(.
The reform plan for DOGE focuses on directly allocating research funding to researchers instead of schools, and promoting IT system integration to enhance research efficiency and control effectiveness.
There are more credit cards than employees, and internal controls are very lax.
DOGE has also found that the federal government issued 4.6 million credit cards, but there are only about 2.3 million employees, so the number of cards has exceeded the limit, and 300,000 cards have been recovered.
Currently, DOGE is promoting stricter issuance processes and usage reviews, reforming the financial system in accordance with corporate internal control standards.
External pressure continues, yet it remains unshaken.
Musk and DOGE members pointed out that they are currently facing significant opposition from Congress, left-wing judges, and NGOs, but these opposing voices never target actual reform projects; they just want to engage in a war of words. Musk also emphasized that the reform results will allow a 94-year-old grandmother to successfully receive the benefits she is entitled to.
Finally, Musk was also asked why he wanted to join this battle. He stated, "I feel it's my patriotic duty. If we don't do it, America will sink." He further emphasized that the entire reform action was able to proceed smoothly because of Trump's support and his cabinet; otherwise, it would not have been possible at all.
