The US Department of Justice has launched an investigation into the most talked-about altcoin of the recent period!
Last week, the alleged fraud in the cryptocurrency market was the meme coin LIBRA based on Solana (SOL) in the agenda.
As the LIBRA debate flared up after it received the support of Argentine President Javier Milei, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) took action on LIBRA.
According to a report from Argentine local media outlet Lanacion, the U.S. Department of Justice has launched an investigation into the LIBRA token.
According to the report, the DOJ investigation is investigating the role of other key figures in the crypto industry, such as Argentine President Javier Milei, Uniswap CEO Hayden Adams, and KIP Protocol co-founder Julian Peh, as well as whether LIBRA is involved in fraudulent activity.
The report quoted sources as saying that the investigation was still in its early stages and that the investigation had been confirmed.
In addition, the report stated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)*** may also be involved in the LIBRA investigation initiated by the DOJ.
The investigation comes after an Argentine law firm filed a criminal complaint with U.S. authorities regarding those responsible for LIBRA's collapse.
The Argentine Senate also requested the current administration to compile and submit a report on the president's connections to LIBRA.
As it is known, LIBRA was advertised on social media by Milei. Milei's support has led to thousands of people turning to LIBRA, and their investments have lost millions of dollars after its price plummeted.
