The largest fraud in history, involving over $4.4 billion, was wiped out in just 10 hours.
This is Javier Milei, President of Argentina and he has launched the memecoin $LIBRA. Within 10 hours, more than -$4.4 billion was wiped out, making it the largest scam in history.
On February 14, Javier Milei, President of Argentina, posted on X about his own $LIBRA coin. Despite concerns that his account may have been hacked, the currency has quickly become viral. Finally, it has been proven to be legal, as many Argentine politicians have reposted the news.
From the beginning, many things seem not right about the project. ► The website was created just a few hours before launch and redirected to a basic Google Form.
► There is no information about the owner, and the domain is only registered for 1 year.
But if you dig a little deeper, everything is actually worse. ► Unlike the memes of other top celebrities, there is no official tokenomics. ► 82% of the supply is held in completely unlocked wallets. ► Someone has added one-way liquidity to Meteora, meaning they can withdraw it at any time.
After the success of $TRUMP - and despite all the red flags - many people have invested heavily, pushing the market capitalization to $4.5 billion. At that time, the $LIBRA team and those involved began to withdraw funds.
Minutes after its launch, some major investors have started liquidating millions of dollars worth of $LIBRA. In just the first 3 hours, a cluster of wallets withdrew a total of 87 million dollars.
As soon as the sell-off began, the owners of those pools started to withdraw $USDC and $SOL, essentially withdrawing liquidity instead of selling on the open market.
In less than 60 minutes, $LIBRA has dropped more than 90%, wiping out over 4 billion dollars from the market.
Shortly after, Javier Milei deleted the post about $LIBRA and tweeted that he "had nothing to do with the project" and that "when he knew the details, he decided to stop promoting it".
While many are suffering heavy losses on $LIBRA, the team and those involved are still withdrawing money. For example, a wallet just earned 107 million dollars by withdrawing liquidity and requesting Meteora fees.
While the selling pressure continues, many have called this the biggest memecoin scam in history. But one thing is certain — the insiders have made a fortune while the retailers have nothing. What do you think of the famous memecoin tokens? Stay away from this type of token, try to invest in tokens with large market capitalization such as #BTC, ETH, SOL, etc. and comment your thoughts below
