Trump appoints officials to protect Musk's DOGE employees, fearing escalation of Washington power struggle
A fierce controversy surrounding the government efficiency department led by Elon Musk and DOGE has recently erupted in Washington, USA. Edward Martin, the Washington prosecutor appointed by current US President Donald Trump, publicly warned on 2/4 that anyone obstructing the work of DOGE would face legal sanctions.
Trump appoints officials vow to protect DOGE
On 1/20, Trump appointed Martin as the federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C., which immediately attracted attention in the political arena. On 2/4, Martin directly called out to Musk on Twitter, saying, 'Please make good use of me and my team to protect DOGE and its members.' He also emphasized that any attempt to hinder DOGE's work or threaten its members may be in violation of the law, and he is willing to take any legal action to ensure the team's safety.
Martin publicly tweeted that he will do everything to protect DOGE on Twitter.
While Martin did not specifically name any event, he said that some DOGE members have been 'publicly targeted.' Martin's open letter has a tough stance, seen by the outside world as a strong warning to all federal officials who may obstruct DOGE's work.
