Switzerland's State Bank Offers Ethereum Staking Service! Sufficient Small Amount - Coin Bulletin
PostFinance, known as a crypto-friendly bank owned by the Swiss government, announced that it has started offering Ethereum (Ether) staking service to its 2.7 million customers.
In the blog post published on January 16th, the bank announced that the Ethereum staking service will be offered for a minimum fixed period of twelve weeks and that the earned staking rewards will be available for sale.
Opportunity to Stake Low Amount of ETH with PostFinance
Normally, it takes at least 32 ETH (approximately $106,000) to stake on the Ethereum network. However, PostFinance makes this process more accessible to everyone by offering its customers the opportunity to stake with just 0.1 Ether (approximately $331)
The bank stated that the staking service takes place entirely on the Ethereum blockchain and is integrated with existing banking systems. PostFinance Digital Assets President Alexander Thoma said, "Thanks to this integration, customers will be able to see their staking rewards in their asset notifications along with their other assets."
Traditional Banks' Interest in the Cryptocurrency Field is Increasing
PostFinance's move is considered as part of increasing interest of traditional banks in the crypto space. In December, Anchorage Digital, one of the first federal banks in the US, started offering liquid Ether staking service.
According to Beacon Chain data, the amount of Ether staked on the Ethereum network is increasing every year. The amount of staked Ether, which was 682,000 on December 1, 2020, has now exceeded 33 million.
