Abstract generation in progress

According to Politico, US Senator Cynthia Lummis has opened an investigation into the sale of BTC to the US Marshals Service, which is responsible for the Bitcoins held by the Department of Justice.

Lummis emphasized that when the sold Bitcoins are held, their value will increase significantly, and advocated the holding of BTCs.

I am writing to request additional information regarding the planned disposal of approximately 69,370 Bitcoins seized from the U.S. Marshal Service's Silk Road case.

Given that the latest court decisions and the value of these assets currently exceed 6 billion dollars in market prices, this issue should be addressed immediately.

The past performance of the US Marshal Service in handling seized Bitcoin reveals a worrying loss for American taxpayers.

According to historical sales data, Servis sold approximately 195,092 Bitcoins for a total of approximately 366.5 million dollars between 2014 and 2023.

*At current market prices, the same Bitcoins will be worth over $18.9 billion, indicating a potential loss of over $18.5 billion in unrealized value for American taxpayers, a surprising loss of 98% in potential value.
