Blockstream and EchoX form a strategic alliance to promote RWA innovation in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region

Asia-Pacific Web3 solution leader EchoX and global leading blockchain technology company Blockstream have signed a memorandum of understanding in Tokyo, Japan, announcing a strategic alliance. The collaboration will focus on asset tokenization (RWA), blockchain infrastructure construction, and market promotion in the Asia-Pacific region, accelerating the integration of blockchain technology and TradFi, and promoting the application and development of blockchain technology in the Asia-Pacific region.

Last month (December), both parties visited several financial institutions in Tokyo, Japan to explore in-depth the cooperation opportunities for various FinTech projects in Japan and other Asia-Pacific regions; EchoX will also join forces with its strategic alliance partner - Japan's largest financial consulting group, to jointly promote the innovation of new financial services in Japan.

EchoX and Blockstream have proposed a professional and efficient series of solutions for the challenges faced by enterprises in overseas financing and market expansion. Leveraging the stability of the Bitcoin network technology, the two parties will promote the application of the Bitcoin second-layer network, Liquid Network, to provide solutions for the high costs and delays in traditional international payments and settlements, significantly improving cross-border transaction efficiency and helping enterprises quickly enter the international market. Liquid Network provides a stable and efficient financial transaction infrastructure, which is particularly suitable for asset trading and cross-border transaction applications. This series of services not only address the practical needs of enterprises, but also inject vitality into the Asia-Pacific RWA market, attracting more international funds and simplifying the participation process for international investors, achieving a win-win situation for enterprises, markets, and investors. In the first quarter of 2025, the two parties will use blockchain technology to help enterprises tokenize physical assets into RWA tokens, achieve global issuance, and enhance liquidity and market transparency.

EchoX CEO Li Jianxian said: "The blockchain applications in the Asia-Pacific region are on the eve of an outbreak. From the practical implementation of RWA in Japan to the gradual legislation and regulation of digital asset trading platforms in Hong Kong, we look forward to integrating Blockstream's mature blockchain underlying technology with EchoX's industry application solutions to provide a one-stop comprehensive solution for customers in the Asia-Pacific region, quickly expanding innovative models to various markets."

Blockstream CEO Adam Back pointed out that "we are deeply impressed by the RWA projects we saw during this visit, and Blockstream looks forward to working more closely with EchoX to continue promoting the application and development of Bitcoin and blockchain technology in Japan and the entire Asia-Pacific region's digital asset field."

In the future, both parties will gradually advance multiple pilot projects and plan to launch virtual asset custody services in Hong Kong in the first quarter of 2025 in collaboration with an asset trust company holding a Hong Kong TCSP license, opening a new chapter for the international application of Blockchain technology in the Asia-Pacific region.
