Ai16z plans to launch AI Agent Layer 1 next year! The platform aims to go live in the first quarter and enhance Token empowerment.
The AI venture DAO ai16z, which has attracted the attention of well-known venture capitalist a16z founder Marc Andreessen, has recently sparked discussions in its own governance forum. The main issue is that the community believes ai16z lacks a specific token economy, leading to its valuation being lower than that of competitors such as Virtual on the Base chain. Currently, the main proposal in the community is to create a AI agent activation platform similar to Pump.fun, and even launch its own Layer 1, positioning ai16z as the Layer 1 public chain for AI.
Or launch the ai16z Launchpad in the first quarter to foster the token economy
Regarding the discussion of the ai16z token economics, there are plans to launch the activation platform in the first quarter to bring innovation to AI agents using the Eliza framework. This includes interaction between agents and multi-chain integration. The value acquisition mechanism includes activation fees, $ai16z token staking, and liquidity pools with $ai16z. After release, the code will gradually be open-sourced for community collaboration.
The goal of the first phase is to establish a self-sustaining economic system, where the interests of each project will align with the ai16z ecosystem when it becomes easy to initiate, develop, and maintain liquidity.
Specifically, when a new AI project launches tokens on the platform, users can trade the tokens for SOL, and the platform will charge a small fee for the liquidity pool. This fee is divided into two parts:
Half of the funds will be used to repurchase the $ai16z token from the market, and the other half will be used to create a liquidity pool for the AI agent token/ai16z, providing additional liquidity for the new project's tokens. In addition, fees collected by the platform from the liquidity pool. The $ai16z portion goes into the DAO treasury, and the project tokens are rebalanced back to the main trading pool to maintain high liquidity. This liquidity pool design provides more stable liquidity for the new tokens and ai16z tokens, and encourages the growth of $ai16z and new tokens.
ai16z is no longer a meme coin, but AI Layer 1
The main challenge right now is that while the Eliza proxy framework is thriving on technological innovation, it has maintained good usage. However, the $ai 16z token currently lacks a strong value accumulation mechanism, resulting in an imbalance in incentives. The official ai16z launchpad is launched for Eliza-based agency projects. This move is seen as the main way to implement the flywheel token economy, pushing the value to $ai 16z.
The forum also mentioned that positioning $ai16z as the basic currency for inter-agent transactions and the 'application store' for agent services. More specifically, positioning ai16z as Layer 1 of artificial intelligence.
