Experienced CEO discussed the possibility of Bitcoin reserve in the US, shared BTC peak price prediction!
Castle Island founder Nic Carter recently shared his views on important topics such as MicroStrategy's Bitcoin strategy, Ethereum's developing role in the crypto ecosystem, and the possibility of the US having a strategic Bitcoin reserve under the Trump administration in a recent interview.
Carter stated that MicroStrategy innovatively used fixed income markets to issue debt and buy Bitcoin, enabling the company to achieve a 2x premium on its Bitcoin assets' net asset value (NAV). This strategy advocated by Michael Saylor provided a way for institutional investors who cannot buy Bitcoin directly or through ETFs to invest. However, Carter cautioned investors about the risks associated with MicroStrategy's premium, warning that the stock price could deviate from Bitcoin's trajectory in a sell-off.
Carter emphasized that Ethereum plays a significant role as the cornerstone of the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem and holds the majority of the total value locked (TVL) in DeFi applications. Ethereum continues to be the dominant platform for stablecoins and NFTs and has promising expectations for continuous growth. Carter said, 'After closely following Bitcoin for a long time, Ethereum seized an opportunity here'.
Carter expressed doubts about the possibility of the US having a strategic Bitcoin reserve and rejected the possibility of Congress supporting such a move. He argued that transitioning the US financial system from the dollar to a Bitcoin-backed standard would undermine global confidence in the dollar as a reserve currency. While smaller countries like Bhutan and El Salvador embrace Bitcoin as part of their financial strategies, Carter suggested that the US, as the issuing country of the global reserve currency, should refrain from signaling a departure from the dollar.
However, he also acknowledged the market optimism about Bitcoin, which recently reached a record level of $108,000, warning that speculative rhetoric such as strategic reserves could lead to disappointment and corrections in the market if these expectations are not met.
Carter predicts that Bitcoin could reach a market value equivalent to gold in the long term and price each Bitcoin at $900,000. While maintaining his optimism about the growth of the sector, he cautioned against exaggerating the impact of speculative rhetoric on Bitcoin's short-term price movements.
