US Congressman's Meme Coin and Altcoin Investment: Prices Soared! - Coin Bulletin
US Congressman Mike Collins caused fluctuations in the crypto market with meme coin and altcoin investments.
US Congressman Mike Collins continues to draw attention with his cryptocurrency investments. Collins recently made headlines with his investment in a meme coin called Ski Mask Dog (SKI).
It was revealed in the Periodic Transaction Report published on Monday, December 2nd that the congressman purchased SKI up to a total of $30,000 on December 1 and 2, with each of Collins' transactions ranging from $1 to $15,000.
Interest in Memecoin Sends Prices Soaring
Collins' acquisition of SKI was announced by the popular X account Unusual Whales. Following this post, Collins responded with an image of Pepe the Frog wearing sunglasses.
After these developments, the price of SKI increased to $0.2281, with a 116% increase in 24 hours.
Altcoin Investments Continue
The congress member invested in a altcoin called Aerodrome (AERO) outside of SKI. Collins made two separate purchases of up to $15,000 in AERO on December 1 and 2.
In addition, he had previously purchased AERO up to $50,000 on July 6, and then bought and sold the same asset again on August 5. However, it is noteworthy that AERO has only dropped by 0.5% to $1.63 in the last 24 hours.
Among Collins' other investments are two Ethereum purchases he made this year, totaling $65,000, with a altcoin called Velodrome.
According to the STOCK Act in effect in the US, members of Congress are required to report investment purchases, sales, or exchanges over $1,000. This regulation aims to increase transparency and prevent conflicts of interest.
Collins' crypto investments continue to attract public attention with a variety ranging from memecoins to altcoins.
