The innovative track behind the meme trend! What are altVM and Catalyst? Why are they worth billions of dollars?
Ethereum's performance has not been as expected, and more and more chains are beginning to introduce different virtual machines (VMs) - these are called "altVMs".
In contrast, Solana, SUI and other public chains stand out, and the rise of meme coins exceeds expectations, demonstrating the competition and cooperation potential of different altVMs. Against this background, @CatalystSystem announced that it will be the only bridge between altVMs. What does this mean? 👇 🧵

What is altVM? Why are they important?
We all know that Virtual Machine (VM) is the core component for executing Smart Contracts. Ethereum's EVM is one of the earliest and most popular Virtual Machines, but it is not the only choice. altVM refers to those Virtual Machines that run outside of the Ethereum EVM. They are usually designed as optimized solutions for specific needs.
For example, Solana, SUI, and Aptos are well-known altVMs that offer higher speed, more scalability, and even better security than the Ethereum EVM through different architectures and technologies. The emergence of these altVMs gives developers more choices and makes the on-chain application scenarios more diversified.
Despite the merits of these altVMs, achieving seamless asset transfer and interoperability between them remains a significant challenge. That's why Cross-Chain Interaction Protocol has become a hot topic.
Two, Catalyst: Building a Cross-Chain Interaction Bridge for altVM
In order to allow users to easily cross different altVM ecosystems, Catalyst has emerged.
Unlike other Cross-Chain Interaction, the current Cross-Chain Interaction issue between EVM and EVM has been resolved. Catalyst is the first bridge built specifically for altVM ecosystems such as BTC, SVM, TON, Move, Cosmos, etc., connecting users outside of EVM.
The advantage of Catalyst lies in its fast deployment and adaptability, which can quickly support the new altVM that emerges within a few months, and quickly bring users a brand new Cross-Chain Interaction experience. Most importantly, Catalyst's design allows users to easily access other altVM ecosystems, greatly reducing the technical threshold for Cross-Chain Interaction operations, just like operating on the Ether, 01928374656574839201.

So, how does Catalyst integrate with altVM? This brings us to CrossCats. CrossCats is an intent-based cross-chain interaction exchange protocol.
Through CrossCats, users can transfer assets from one altVM to another altVM, or even from traditional Blockchains like BTC to more modern virtual machines. This Cross-Chain InteractionInteroperability greatly improves the Liquidity of users' assets.
For example, suppose a user wants to exchange their BTC for a Token on a altVM called CrossCats. CrossCats ensures that this transaction can be completed smoothly through its unique protocol. This is a more efficient and convenient Cross-Chain Interaction experience than Ethereum EVM.

So, what does CrossCats mean to ordinary users?
On the one hand, users can transfer assets more easily, especially for exchange between virtual machines and BTC. Other Cross-Chain Interaction operations usually require multiple tools, wallets, and Cross-Chain Interaction bridges. However, with CrossCats, you can exchange BTC for tokens on a single altVM, and perform Cross-Chain Interaction transactions, lending, or Decentralized Finance.
On the other hand, with the connection of different altVMs by CrossCats, developers can deploy dapps on multiple chains. This means that users can experience more applications and services from other ecosystems, not just limited to the Ethereum ecosystem.
CrossCats Mainnet went live on November 27th, website:
To sum up, the relationship between altVM, Catalyst, and CrossCats is as follows:
altVM was created to address the limitations of EVM and provides more efficient solutions for specific applications.
Catalyst provides a bridge to connect altVM, making Cross-Chain Interaction operations simpler.
CrossCats is the core component of the Catalyst framework.
Currently, the cross-chain between altVMs and the cross-chain between Bitcoin and altVMs are relatively new. As the only connection bridge, @CatalystSystem has relatively high popularity in foreign communities and is worth following.
