WalletConnect has officially started the eligibility check for the first season of the WalletConnect Token (WCT) airdrop.
This feature enables previously registered users to actively participate in network governance by staking their tokens.
In the first season of the Airdrop, a total of 50 million WCT tokens will be distributed to over 160,000 eligible users. These users include developers, contributors, and active users. The total supply of WCT tokens is set at 1 billion.
The 50 million tokens allocated throughout the season:
Use of Tokens and Stake Process
The distributed tokens will initially be non-transferable. However, users will be able to stake these tokens for periods ranging from one week to two years. Stake rewards will start on December 19th.
Eligibility for the Airdrop is determined by users creating a profile via the WalletConnect network, connecting a wallet, and demonstrating activity on the network prior to a specific date. WalletConnect has established a scoring system based on users' past network usage, on-chain activities, and contributions on platforms such as GitHub to ensure fair distribution.
