Restaking protocol EigenLayer will distribute an extra 100 tokens worth around $1,000 to hundreds of thousands of users.
According to the statement made by the Eigen Foundation, all users who have used EigenLayer before April 29 will receive an additional 100 EIGEN during the airdrop. This will apply to more than 280 thousand users.
EigenLayer announced at the end of last month that it would be holding an airdrop for its own cryptocurrency. Of this, 15% was reserved for the community and will be distributed in different "seasons". The first 5% is reserved for users who have collected "points" on the platform since the early periods.
While 55% of the total supply was allocated to the project's team and investors, the allocation of 5% to users drew reactions on social media.
Tokens distributed via Airdrop will remain locked for a while before some new features in the protocol are implemented. The EigenLayer team said, "To provide clarity on this timeline, we can confirm that we are targeting September 30, 2024 for these features to come to mainnet." *Said.
