Ripple CTO warns of cryptocurrency scams!

David Schwartz has sounded the alarm about a new cryptocurrency scam. Schwartz laid bare the increasing sophistication of fraudulent activities in the crypto space. Schwartz, the mastermind behind XRP Ledger and the current chief technology officer of Ripple, recently issued a warning about a deceptive scheme targeting users of popular NFT marketplace OpenSea. Schwartz uncovered an email claiming to be an offer from a potential buyer on OpenSea. Next to the post, he attached a screenshot showing the fraudulent nature of the email. "It's a hoax," Schwartz emphasized.

It led users to examine the legitimacy of the "Review Offer" link. He then advised them to hover over him with the mouse. If the link leads to a SurveyMonkey URL, it's been flagged as a potential scam. It also stated that clicking on the link redirects to a fake OpenSea page. However, he cautioned that SurveyMonkey had already blocked the malicious site.

CAUTION: This is a scam.

The key sign would be if you mouseover the "Review Offer" link, it goes to a SurveyMonkey link. If you click on it, you would have gotten a fake OpenSea page but SurveyMonkey has already blocked it. pic.twitter.com/l14USuyQ5s

Legal expert seeks answer to XRP's removal from the green list

XRP has been removed from the NYDFS's green list. Following this, leading legal expert James Murphy began investigating the background to the decision. Murphy filed a FOIA request with the New York regulator to ascertain the rationale for the decision. According to Murphy, it's hard to understand why the regulator removed XRP from the green list two months after the cryptocurrency was declared non-security by a federal judge. This floating has requested clarification on this under the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act).

NYDFS removes XRP from green list

The New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) has updated its list of approved tokens for custody and listing. Following this, it sent shockwaves through the crypto market in September. In the update, the New York regulator removed two dozen crypto assets, including LTC and DOGE, as well as XRP from the green list.

The removal of Ripple (XRP) from the NYDFS's green list has sparked backlash from crypto enthusiasts, given that a New York federal judge ruled in July 2023 that XRP is not a security per se.
