Bitcoin reached the level of 45,500 dollars, the highest level of the last 21 months, with the sharp rise that started at 11:00 CET on Monday 11:00 on the first day of the new year. Along with Bitcoin, large bullish movements were observed in altcoins.

According to data from CoinGecko, Bitcoin is up 6.8% over the past 24 hours, while Ethereum (ETH) is up 4.4% at $2,380 BNB up 3.1% at $317 and Solana (SOL) is up 10.3% at $112.

The rise is thought to have taken place with the news presented by Reuters that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will approve a spot Bitcoin ETF today or tomorrow. On the other hand, the SEC has 14 maximum 8 days to respond to the applicants.

Justin d'Anethan, head of APAC business development at crypto market issuer Keyrock, said he had received reports that several spot Bitcoin ETF applicants, including BlackRock and Fidelity, had decided on the names of brokers to support Bitcoin transactions.

With the rise of Bitcoin, $143 million of 45,500 traders were liquidated. The largest transaction was the liquidation of a $10.16 million** Bitcoin long position.
