The widowed singer George Jones's boyfriend was arrested for stealing more than 17 million USD XRP.
Kirk West (58 years old), the boyfriend of widow Nancy Jones – the wife of the late legendary country singer George Jones – was arrested at Nashville airport on July 24, just hours after being investigated for allegedly stealing over 5.5 million XRP tokens worth 17.4 million USD.
According to the report, West had a long-term romantic relationship with Mrs. Nancy. However, this relationship has now turned into a serious case as Mrs. Nancy accused of having cash and a Ledger hardware wallet containing more than 5.5 million XRP stolen on July 23.
Only Nancy and West know the private key to access the wallet. After being asked to leave the house on June 28, West is accused of offering to return 5 million USD XRP if Nancy did not report to the police.
The police have recovered 5,051,102 XRP, but approximately 483,205 XRP ( equivalent to hundreds of thousands of USD) is still missing. West is currently detained with a bail of 1 million USD, and is scheduled to appear in court on October 23.
