Leaders of the US and Israel discussed the attack on the church in Gaza; the Israeli Prime Minister issued a statement saying it was a "misstrike."

On July 18, Jin10 reported that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu issued a statement expressing deep regret over the Israeli military's "stray bullet" hitting a Catholic church in the Gaza Strip on the 17th, stating that Israel is investigating the matter. The Israeli military's airstrike on a Catholic church in the Gaza Strip resulted in 3 deaths and 9 injuries. U.S. President Trump subsequently called Netanyahu. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that Netanyahu agreed during the call to issue a statement characterizing the attack as a mistake by the Israeli military.
