Trump's harsh remarks to Elon Musk: "He would return to South Africa"
Elon Musk continues to oppose the bill supported by Donald Trump that includes tax rebates. Musk recently stated in a tweet he posted late at night that he would establish the "America Party" if this bill becomes law.
"To be established the day after tomorrow"
In a comment made from his Musk X account, he referred to the law as the "crazy spending law" and wrote the following:
"If this crazy spending bill becomes law, a new American Party will be established the next day. There is a need for a new voice outside of the Democrat-Republican single party. All I want is for America not to be driven into bankruptcy... Why is there a debt limit? The only way for the government to cut spending is to reach the debt ceiling..."
"Perhaps Elon Musk's subsidies should be considered"
Donald Trump responded to Musk on his Truth Social account and subtly threatened him.
"Elon knew that I opposed the electric vehicle push even before he supported me during the election process. This was already one of my biggest promises during the election cycle. So this is nonsense... Elon may be one of the most incentivized and supported individuals in this world. Without this support, he would close his shops and have to return to South Africa. There would be no rockets, no satellites, and no electric vehicle production left. Our country would also go through significant savings. Perhaps DOGE should look at Musk's subsidies. There could be a lot of money to be saved."
The bill described by Trump as the "Big, Beautiful Law" reduces tax support for green energy companies while providing support for fossil fuel companies.
The proposal aimed at making the tax rebates introduced by Trump in 2017 permanent is thought to impose an additional burden of $3.3 trillion on the US economy over a 10-year period.
Trump states that taxes will decrease with the bill and that "the people's money will stay in their pockets."
The bill is currently in the Senate for some amendment discussions.
