Strategy company's Monday classic: New Bitcoin purchase announced
The strategy company announced a new Bitcoin purchase. The company acquired 4980 BTC, with a total payment of 531.9 million dollars. The average of the purchases made between June 23-29 was also 106,801 dollars. The total number of Bitcoins held by the software company has increased to 597,325 with this purchase. Strategy is positioned as the company holding the most Bitcoin globally.
Since 2020, a total of 42.4 billion dollars has been paid for all Bitcoins purchased, while the average purchase price for all BTCs was 70,982 dollars.
Metaplanet announced today
Metaplanet, referred to as "Japan's Strategy," also announced the purchase of Bitcoin on a Monday. The company announced that it bought 1,005 Bitcoins at a cost of 108 million dollars. With a total of 13,350 BTC, the company has thus surpassed the US Bitcoin miner Cleanspark. Metaplanet had also surpassed Tesla in its purchase last week.
As a reminder, last week, the famous podcast host Anthony Pompliano also founded a Bitcoin-focused company called ProCap, which began trading on Nasdaq after a SPAC merger and separately purchased 4,932 Bitcoin.
