BlackRock ETF purchases 3.25% of the Bitcoin supply as 'new money' runs out

BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF IBIT is approaching the milestone of 70 billion USD in assets under management, accounting for over 54.7% of the Bitcoin ETF market share in America and holding more than 3.25% of the total BTC supply. This achievement comes just over a year after its launch, reflecting strong interest from institutional investors, even as retail flows are declining.

Data shows that large transactions are dominating the Bitcoin network, with an average transaction value of up to 36,200 USD and over 89% of transactions exceeding 100,000 USD. Meanwhile, the group of short-term investors has reduced their hold to 4.5 million BTC, indicating that new capital inflows are weakening.

Some analyses warn that the next price increase needs new momentum, amidst the pressure of profit-taking and selling from miners still being present.
