Ross Ulbricht's prison card was auctioned for 11 BTC.
On June 1, 2025, the prison card of Ross Ulbricht – the founder of Silk Road – was successfully auctioned for 11 BTC ( over 1 million USD ) on the Scarce City platform, which only uses Bitcoin. The event took place after Ulbricht was pardoned by former President Donald Trump earlier this year, drawing attention from collectors of memorabilia related to the history of cryptocurrency.
The total amount of assets brought back by Ulbricht is 1.8 million USD in Bitcoin. A separate report also noted 300 BTC (, approximately 31 million USD ) from the community, raising speculation about his financial maneuvers and his role in advocating for freedom within the cryptocurrency community.
