Billionaire Fund Manager Ackman's "Nuclear War" Call to Trump: Stop Immediately! - Coin Bulletin
Bill Ackman called on President Trump not to initiate an economic "nuclear war" against the high tariffs he is considering implementing globally and stated that a pause period should be granted.
Hedge fund billionaire Ackman stated in a statement today that the tariffs he plans to implement due to trade disputes could undermine investor confidence worldwide, lead to a decrease in consumer spending, and leave lasting effects on America’s global reputation.
Ackman stated that Trump should be given a chance to correct the unfair structure of tariffs, and otherwise, he indicated that we would be dragged into a "spontaneous nuclear winter" in the world economy.
Trump's tariffs are affecting Bitcoin
Last week, President Trump announced an increase in tariffs for 180 countries worldwide and raised the total tax rate applied to China to 54%. This development has caused great unease in global markets, and digital assets like Bitcoin have also begun to be negatively affected by this uncertainty.
Bitcoin has scared investors by dropping below the level of 79,000 dollars. Analysts state that due to Trump's tariffs, interest in digital assets has decreased, and investors are seeking a safe haven.
Fear prevails in global markets
The recent decline in global markets has led to significant losses, especially in the stock markets. While US stock indices lost more than 5% in value, Asian and European markets are also going through a tough period. Other major cryptocurrencies also experienced larger declines with the drop of Bitcoin. Ether (ETH) lost 11%, while Solana (SOL) lost 10%. This negative atmosphere in the market is increasing investors' concerns.
