BlackRock currently holds over 100 billion dollars in cryptocurrency
BlackRock has reached a new milestone in its digital asset strategy, with cryptocurrency holdings amounting to 103.98 billion USD as of August 14, 2025, according to analysis by Finbold based on data from the blockchain analysis platform Arkham.
This category includes 89.27 billion USD Bitcoin (743.310 BTC) and 14.71 billion USD Ethereum (3.2 million ETH). This is a net increase of 49.15 billion USD compared to the beginning of 2025, when BlackRock held 54.83 billion USD, consisting of 51.16 billion USD BTC and 3.59 billion USD ETH.
Notably, the accumulation rate of Ethereum has surged in recent months. At the beginning of the year, BlackRock held about 1.07 million ETH worth 3.59 billion USD; by June 30, this figure had reached 4.21 billion USD; and just after six weeks, it had more than tripled to 14.71 billion USD.
Since January, the amount of ETH has increased by 198.64% and its value has risen by more than 309%, while BTC has increased by 34.52% in quantity and 74.48% in value. The momentum comes from increased institutional demand, capital inflow into Ethereum ETFs, the expansion of DeFi, and optimism about the network's scaling roadmap.
Although accounting for less than 1% of the total assets of 12.53 trillion USD, BlackRock's investment of over 100 billion USD in cryptocurrencies is a clear signal of confidence in digital assets.
