The U.S. Department of Justice, in collaboration with multiple agencies, successfully shut down the infrastructure of the LummaC2 encryption spyware.

According to Gate News bot, Decrypt reported that the U.S. Department of Justice, along with Microsoft, Europol, and other agencies, has launched a joint operation to seize the key infrastructure of the malware LummaC2 used for crypto theft and shut down over 2,300 related domains.

LummaC2 has been spreading globally since 2022 and has infected a total of 394,000 devices. This software specifically targets the mnemonic phrases and account information of cryptocurrency wallets, recording over 1.7 million theft attempts.
