According to Wu Shuo, the Seoul Economic Daily reports that the South Korean payment service provider Kakao Pay has officially launched the KRW stablecoin project. Kakao Pay submitted an application to the Korean Patent Office on June 17 for 18 trademarks related to the KRW stablecoin, including "KRWKP", "KWRP", and "KPKRW", covering areas such as virtual asset financial transactions and electronic transfers. Currently, South Korea is advancing the "Digital Asset Basic Law", allowing private issuance of KRW stablecoins. On the same day, gaming company Nexusth also stated that it would strive to become the first issuer of KRW stablecoins.
